The effect of the memory development program in improving the reading comprehension of students with learning disabilities

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the impact of the memory development program in improving the reading comprehension of students with learning disabilities. The sample consisted of (20) students with learning disabilities in Najd National Schools in Riyadh in the age range of 9-10 years. The sample was divided into two groups, a control group and an experimental group. The battery of diagnostic tests for people with learning disabilities (memory) was used by: Fathi Al-Zayyat, the reading comprehension test for students with learning disabilities prepared by: the researcher, and the memory development program to improve reading comprehension by (15) sessions prepared by: the researcher, and the application of the program took 3 Months. The results of the study found the effectiveness of the memory development program in improving the reading comprehension of students with learning disabilities. The study recommended a number of recommendations; Among the most important: using activities that help develop memory for students with learning disabilities, and benefiting from the program, especially its strategies for developing memory, to improve the reading comprehension process for students with learning disabilities.
