Publication Ethics

The journal is following COPE instructions: 

  • Educational Research and Innovation Journal (ERIJ) is an innovative, international, open-access, and peer-reviewed journal that aims to publish articles relevant to education professionals from any discipline targeting the academic communities, educational systems developers, and users alike including the health professions education.

  • Manuscripts are considered for publication provided that they have not been published previously in print or electronic format and are not submitted for review in other journals in the same or different language.

  • All submitted articles that do not follow the standards and ethics of the journal will not be considered for publication. Moreover, if malpractice is discovered at any time even after publication, the article will not be accepted or even withdrawn.

Ethical Issues:

  •  The submitted articles involving research subjects (e.g. patients, learners, junior members of faculty) must have been conducted within the guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki (https://erij.journals.ekb.eg/) and must include a statement showing the approval of the institutional ethics committee with the approval number. It should denote that informed consent was obtained after the nature and possible consequences of the study were explained.

Plagiarism Detection:

  • All articles submitted to ERIJ for review will, as part of the review process, be subjected to plagiarism check software to detect the possible degree of plagiarism using one of the available software, to locate suspect sites. Any articles suspected of plagiarism will be automatically declined. The journal accepts a maximum of 20% similarity excluding references with a maximum of 5% from one source.

Copyright and Permissions:

  • Copyrighted material allows the author to quote not more than 100 words from published materials, provided that the source is properly cited within the submitted manuscript.

  • The use of figures, tables, photographs, audio or video segments required written permission to be obtained from the genuine publisher to use his published material. In such a case, the author should provide a permission summary with manuscript submission and/or add them in acknowledgment.

Acknowledgments:

  • The sources of funding, and the financial disclosure, must be addressed in the section of Acknowledgements within the manuscript. Besides any participation from individuals or organizations not sufficient enough to be a co-author also, should be included in this section.

Conflicts of Interest:

  • The authors must disclose any personal and/or financial interests related to the subject that is discussed in the submitted manuscript in the section of Conflicts of Interest to be known by the editors, reviewers, as well as readers.

Publication agreement:

  • Upon submission of the article, the authors must verify and agree upon a publication agreement document as well as a document of declaration of competing interests.
