Improving Organizational Citizenship among High School Teachers in Makkah Al-Mukarramah through Values-Based Leadership

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the reality of the practice of digital citizenship by secondary school teachers in Makkah Al-Mukarramah in the light of leadership by values, as well as to identify the obstacles to promoting organizational citizenship among secondary school teachers in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and to identify the role of principals of secondary schools in Makkah Al-Mukarramah in promoting organizational citizenship among teachers in the light of Leadership by value, the study used the descriptive survey method on a sample of teachers at the secondary stage in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, where the study sample reached (309) male and female teachers from the secondary stages of different disciplines, and the study tool (questionnaire) was applied after confirming its statistical validity on the study sample and reached the study To a set of results, the most important of which are: In the first axis: ignoring minor harassment that he may be exposed to at work in order to achieve school goals, in the first place, the teacher was keen to present a positive image through his school to others, in the second place, while the most important results of the second axis came: Not providing an appropriate environment that encourages creativity and innovation in providing distinguished services, in the first place, the school’s failure to invest teachers’ skills and abilities in the effective management of the school, in the second place, and as for the results of the third axis, the most important of them were: The school's educational policy, in the first place, the school principal promotes social relations between the school workers, in the second place. The study recommended the following: the need to choose the competencies of school principals to ensure the promotion of the culture of organizational citizenship among teachers at the secondary level, keeping the school in line with quality standards and indicators. Principals with outstanding leadership values must be selected.
