The Effectiveness of Using Digital Resources in Developing Historical Understanding and Reading Preferences in History for First Grade Secondary

Abstract

The recent research aimed detecting the effectiveness of using digital resources in developing historical understanding in History for First Grade Secondary, in order to achieve this goal, tools of experimentation ( historical understanding skills checklist , the teacher’s guide , student’s activity booklet )  were prepared in light of the differentiated instruction approach ,measurement tools were used  to measure the historical understanding skills ,  the research sample included (63) first grade secondary students , the research followed the semi experimental approach with two group: the experimental group of (31) student and the control group (32) student , the results indicated a significant difference at (0.05) in favor of the experimental group in the understating historical skills , the research recommended to use the digital resources in other subject and educational stages and enrich the curricula with appropriate activities to the digital learning environment to form a digital generation keeping pace with the advanced digital era that we are living in now to improve the student's digital skills so that they can interact with the educational content positively.
