Psychological loneliness and its relationship to bullying among university students in light of some demographic variables

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between psychological unity and bullying among university students, in addition to researching the different variables of the study according to the different demographic variables: gender (males - females), specialization (scientific - literary), academic teams (first - second - third - fourth), and this study relied on the comparative correlational descriptive approach, and the study sample consisted of (321) male and female university students, for the academic year (2022-2023) with an average age of (19.8) and a standard deviation of (0.87), and the psychological unit scale (Russell 1996) translated by Magdy Desouky,The results found that there is no statistically significant correlation between the psychological unit and bullying and its traditional and electronic dimensions among the study sample, and there are no statistically significant differences in bullying behavior as a whole and its traditional and electronic dimensions according to the demographic variables gender (males - females), specialization (scientific - literary), academic year (first-second-third-fourth) among university students. It also found that there are differences between male and female university students in the psychological unit in favor of males and that the psychological unit of the study sample does not differ according to the variables (specialization and study group).
