The role of kindergarten in promoting the concepts and values of sustainable development from the point of view of female teachers in the State of Kuwait

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of kindergarten in promoting the concepts and values of sustainable development from the point of view of teachers in the State of Kuwait, and to reveal the obstacles to promoting the concepts and values of sustainable development, and the impact of some variables on that. The study followed the descriptive approach, the sample consisted of (298) kindergarten teachers to whom a questionnaire consisting of (33) statements distributed four domaims was applied. The results concluded that the role of kindergarten in promoting the concepts and values of sustainable development as a whole is great. The concepts and values of sustainable economic development came in first place, followed by the concepts and values of sustainable social development, and finally the concepts and values of sustainable environmental development. The obstacles to promoting the concepts and values of sustainable development came to a large degree. The results also found that there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the study sample about the role of the kindergarten in promoting the concepts and values of sustainable economic development and its obstacles according to academic qualification variable, while there were no differences about the concepts and values of sustainable environmental and social development. There are differences about the role of the kindergarten in promoting the concepts and values of sustainable environmental development according to educational region variable, while there are no differences about the concepts and values of sustainable development (social, economic) and its obstacles. The results also showed that there were no differences about the role of the kindergarten in promoting the concepts and values of sustainable development (environmental, social, economic) and its obstacles according to experience variable.
